LED - Surface Mount Correctional Luminaire Tamper-proof prison lighting built for correctional facilities vandal resistant, secure, and high-performance LED surface mount. Engineered specifically for prison lighting and other high-security applications, this surface-mounted LED luminaire combines rugged construction with efficient performance. Designed by Certolux, a division of Viscor, the VRIS-3942 is built to resist tampering, vandalism, and unauthorized access, making it ideal for correctional facilities, detention centers, and secure mental health institutions. The VRIS-3942 is constructed from precision die-formed steel or stainless steel in 14, 16, or 18-gauge options, with continuously welded corners for maximum durability. Its single-piece door frame features TIG-welded corners and is secured with tamper-proof TORX® fasteners with center pins. A full-length concealed piano hinge adds another layer of security, ensuring the fixture remains sealed and inaccessible without specialized tools. These features make it a top choice for correctional facility lighting , where safety and reliability are non-negotiable. Beyond its physical resilience, the VRIS-3942 offers high-quality illumination through long-life LEDs and high-efficiency drivers. Rated for L80 performance at over 50,000 hours, it supports low-voltage dimming (0–10V, 1%) and maintains a total harmonic distortion (THD) under 20%. Multiple lens options including prismatic polycarbonate, tempered glass, and translucent acrylic allow customization for both fixture-facing and room-facing sides, with lens thicknesses up to 0.500".
