Alambicco
Alambicco is a modular lighting fixture that highlights the beauty of blown glass, using transparency and texture to shape and diffuse light. At its center is an extruded aluminum structure with LED circuits on four opposing sides—this is the technological core around which the various layers are built. The first layer is a knurled glass cylinder, designed to refract the view of the internal components without fully hiding them, ensuring a soft, glare-free light. Layered over this are transparent diffusers with rounded forms, enriched by artisanal craftsmanship inspired by the traditional balloton technique.

The fixture provides mainly direct downward illumination. The shade is lit up from within and creates a soft diffuse upwards light. Depending on the choice of optics, the downward lighting characteristics will vary. The optics types have been designed in different variations to provide differint asymmetrical distributions of light. The LED-upgrade kit (also referred to as LED Retrofit kit) allows you to replace the old electrical components with a complete modern new LED unit, while retaining the original fixture. Icon Mini Opal was designed by Mads Odgård in 1999 for the small town of Flaa in Norway. He was given the task of creating a reflector-based light inspired by classic, simple forms but with a modern expression. Mads Odgård therefore based his design on a hemisphere and a cylinder. The LED-upgrade kit contains all the required parts to make LP Icon Mini even more future-proof that it already is.
